UP Diliman is Still the Country’s Top University

The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman remains to be the country’s top university based on the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (July 2017).

UP Diliman slips to 1451st this year from 1268th last 2016. Also in the list are De La Salle University – Manila, Ateneo De Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, University of San Carlos, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, and other UP units.

“Webometrics Ranking of World Universities” is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.

Webometrics’ indicators include presence (5%), Visibility (50%), Transparency or Openness (10%), and Excellence (35%).

According to its official website, data were collected between 1 and 20 of January and July using Google.com’s mirror domain.
