Of epic proportions.

This is how one could describe the Coco Martin-led Ang Probinsiyano (AP), ABS-CBN’s longest-running primetime television series. AP has been able to recover its primetime leadership after GMA Entertainment TV’s hit series Encantadia ended its first season.

At present, AP is head-to-head with GMA’s Mulawin vs. Ravena.

Ang Probinsyano registered consistent high ratings based on the data of AGB Nielsen, the industry’s most-trusted rating provider.

An ABS-CBN and Dreamscape production series, AP remains on top as the most-watched TV series in the country.

Meanwhile, Mulawin vs. Ravena gains momentum as Encantadia lead stars Glaiza De Castro (Pirena) and Mikee Quintos (Lira) entered the world of feathered creatures as trans-world characters.

Below are the comparative TV ratings of Ang Probinsyano and Mulawin vs. Ravena based on the National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) gathered from July 31, 2017 to August 4, 2017:

Around 3,500 home panels across the country serve as AGB Nielsen’s data-gathering mechanism while Kantar Media has 900 home panels fewer than Nielsen’s. GMA is a ratings subscriber of Nielsen while ABS-CBN subscribes to Kantar.

Aside from GMA Network, Nielsen subscribers include TV5, Aksyon TV, CNN Philippines, Net 25, Solar Entertainment Corporation, and Viva Communications Inc., among others, regional network Fox Networks Group, blocktimers CBN Asia and TAPE Inc., and major advertising and media agencies such as Ebiquity-Faulkner, Dentsu Aegis Network (Carat, Mediaforce Vizeum, Dentsu), GroupM (Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC and Maxus), Omnicom Media Group (OMD, PHD and M2M), Zenith Optimedia, and Starcom Mediavest.
